Changwon is the first planned city in Korea. The city has convenient transportation system and boasts of clean environment.

 

Changwon is called the "environmental capital." The city has campaigned and completed many projects to protect the environment. One of the city’s best achievements is the public bike system, NUBIJA, which provides bikes that can be used to conveniently travel around the city.
Changwon also has the Junam wetland where you can experience nature and wildlife. During the winter, the migrant birds' group dance is especially magnificent.

 

Changwon is a city rich with culture and it has many cultural highlights such as historic relics, parks, museums, concert halls, musical theater, etc. The city also holds various cultural festivals throughout the year.

 

Changwon, located in the southeastern region of Korea, is the production base of global companies such as LG, Doosan, STX, and Volvo, among others. High-tech industries including machinery, robotics, aerospace, shipbuilding, and automation all flourish in the Gyeongnam province where the city of Changwon is located. Changwon is also the first city to start a campaign to create a business-friendly environment that will attract, retain and help businesses thrive in its marketplace.

 

Changwon has been designated as a "Lifelong Learning City" by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources and a "Science City" by the Korea Science Foundation. Changwon provides its citizens with 25 social education centers and six municipal libraries with major research institutes. In addition, two new educational institutions, Science High School and Science Experience Center, are scheduled to open in the future.
