Targeting of Specific Cell using Fluorescent Titanate Nanosheets
Ms. Motoko Tokunaga
Nagasaki University
Recently, fluorescent inorganic nanomaterials have been utilized for biochemical application. In this case, surface modification with appropriate biomolecules is required to give biocompatibility and biorecognition ability. Inorganic nanosheets are expected as potential host materials due to high dispersibility in aqueous media and excellent bioaffinity. In the present study, fluorescent titanate nanosheets (TNS) doped with a rare earth element (Eu) was modified with glycoprotein (lectin) recognizing glycans bound to cell surface, and then detection of specific cell using the modified TNS was performed using fluorescence measurements.
