Performance of sulfide based all-solid-state lithium secondary batteries with Li-Si alloy anode
Mr. Joosung Jin
Changwon National University
All-solid-state lithium secondary batteries were fabricated using lithium silicide anodes (Li4.4Si), sulfide-based glass electrolyte (Li2S-P2S5) and titanium disulfide (TiS2) cathodes. The anode and the solid electrolyte were synthesized by high-energy (planetary) ball milling. The effect of particle size reduction and homogeneity of the anode active material on charge/discharge capacity was investigated. In addition, a gradient structure of the anode layer was applied in order to improve the interfacial properties between anode and electrolyte as well as anode and current collector. The results from the present work indicate that the secondary milling process to refine the electrode powder and the gradient electrode structure are effective ways to increase the kinetics of alloying and de-alloying with improvement in interfacial properties in all-solid-state lithium secondary batteries.
